Remove Wheel Hub Step by Step:
The correct way to remove wheel hub and step by step.
Remove the hex. bolts with lock washer.
Remove the cover and gasket.
Fold back the lock plate and remove the outer wheel nut from the steering knuckle by means of the wrench extension.
After removing the wheel nut, remove the lock plate and nased washer, then remove the inner spindle nut with the wrench extension, from the knuckle. Then pull the wheel hub from the steering knuckle.
Disassembling the wheel Hub
The outer race of the outer taper bearing, the inner taper roller bearing, the oil seal support, or the impulse generating ring and the oil seal remain in the wheel hub removed from the steering knuckle. Remove the wasted oil seal by using a simple pry.
For disassembly drive out the inner part of the inner taper roller bearing by means of the tools. During driving out the bearing inner race will also push out the oil seal support or the impulse generating ring.
Remove the wasted oil seal by means of a simple pry.
The drive out the outer race of the inner taper roller bearing.
Drive out the outer race of the outer taper roller bearing by means of the tools.
Reassemling the Wheel Hub
First, drive in the outer races of the taper roller bearings.
Place the wheel with its inner side down and press in the outer race of the outer taper roller bearing to stop.
Turn the wheel hub over to its outer side and drive in the outer race of the inner taper roller bearing too, by means of the tools.
Install the inner part of the bearing into the tapered hole of the outer ring of the inner taper roller bearing.
Pride to assembling the impulse generating ring or the oil seal support shall be cooled in dry ice. Then push it into the wheel hub until stops.
The seat for the oil seal shall be lubricated with oil-proof surface sealing material per the “GENERAL ASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS” Then knock in the oil seal.
